Luca graduated with honours in 1992 from the University of Bologna (Italy). After 3 years research in endocrinology at the BBSRC Institute in Cambridge, he was awarded his PhD in 1996. Following 3 years as Assistant Professor at Padua University (Italy), Luca moved to Bristol University, where he taught cardio-respiratory medicine of the dog and cat for 7 years. In 2005-2007, he was Associate Professor in Cardiology at the University of Minnesota (USA). He returned to the UK in 2008 to set up an independent cardiology company (Specialist Veterinary Cardiology Consultancy/ SVCC Ltd) providing cardiology services in various referral institutions, as well as offering telemedicine service and post-graduate teaching. He obtained the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) certificate in cardiology in 2001, the certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education in 2002, the ECVIM diploma (cardiology) in 2004 and a Certificate in Business & Professional Studies in 2011. In 2019, Luca was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for his Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice. Luca has also vastly contributed to the veterinary literature with articles, abstracts, and book chapters, including the chapter on coughing in the two latest editions of Ettinger’s textbook of Internal Medicine. He also acted as chairman of the ECVIM examination committee and was member of the RCVS examination board and BSAVA congress committee. Luca is a regular speaker worldwide. His main professional interests include feline cardiology, exercise physiology, as well as investigation and management of syncope and coughing.

Agnieszka Noszczyk-Nowak, VMD PhD, Professor

Is working at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Internal Diseases with Clinic of Diseases of Horses, Dogs and Cats. Scientific interests and research activities center are around veterinary cardiology and experimental cardiology, and can be grouped into the following areas: underlying mechanisms of arrhythmia, diagnostics and novel treatments for arrhythmia in veterinary patients, and complications of antiarrhythmic therapy; influence of concomitant diseases on the values of electrocardiographic parameters and clinical and morphological correlates of cardiac diseases; development and applicability of animal models for experimental studies in cardiology, in particular for the research on the pathomechanisms of arrhythmia.  Prof. Agnieszka Noszczyk-Nowak is expert of The National Centre for Research and Development, project leader and principal investigator of research projects, author and co-author of scientific publications, supervisor of completed PhD dissertations and reviewer of PhD dissertations, reviewer of manuscripts submitted to journals from the JCR list.

Prof. dr Manuel Novales, Cordoba University 

Licensed in Veterinary Medicine (1984) and PhD  (1991) from the University of Cordoba (Spain). Professor of Veterinary College since 1987, working in the field of Veterinary Medicine with exclusive dedication towards Veterinary Radiology (both in horses and small animals). Professor of Radiology from 1998.  Co-authored 1 book on Radiology along with 115 scientific papers, and 190 communications and speeches in national and international congresses. Since 20 years ago Dr. Novales has given conferences and courses in Veterinary Radiology in different countries in Europe and South America. Chief of Radiology in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Veterinary College of Cordoba, Spain, where he is head of Diagnostic Imaging. Director of the Diagnostic Center for Osteochondrosis in the Purebred Spanish Horse since 1997 with more than 22.000 x-rays evaluated in Spain and abroad.

Constantin Ifteme DVM – Romania

Constantin Ifteme is the founder of Veterinary Hospital for Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Surgery, Vet Endoscopy Training Center in Bucharest, Romania.

With an experience of more than 10 years in endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, he is one of the pioneers in Romania in this field.

Now he continuing his studies as a PhD Student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Iasi. He is the author of numerous scientific articles, a lector, a trainer and an organizer of national and international conferences and workshops.

He is also the founder of the „Science and Socialization” Continuing Education Program, a member of VES, VIRIES and the president of the Romanian Association of Endoscopic Surgery and Interventional Radiology.

He has carried out multiple stages of continuous training in the field of endoscopy, laparoscopy, surgery and emergency medicine.
